CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- A Mingo County assistant prosecutor is the newest member of the House of Delegates.
Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin appointed Justin Marcum on Monday to the vacancy left by fellow Democrat Steve Kominar.
The 27-year-old Marcum is a graduate of Marshall University and the Appalachian School of Law. He has been practicing in West Virginia since October.
Marcum was expected to be sworn in Monday to represent the 20th Delegate District.
Kominar stepped down from the Legislature to become executive director of the Mingo County Redevelopment Authority.
