Mother Nature's Impact on FestivALL 2014

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Rain, thunder, and lightning kicked off FestivALL 2014 with a boom, and more bad weather is expected for later this week.

Mother Nature hasn't been playing very fair so far for outdoor FestivALL events.

"On Friday, rain effected turnout at Live on the Levee," event executive director Larry Groce said. "Of course and that's too bad. We had to cancel one of our bands."

The bad news is that more rain showers are predicted midweek, but the good news is most FestivALL events during the week are indoors.

"Our outdoor event on Tuesday at Edgewood Country Club, on Wednesday the River Queen Cruises begin, so it could affect that," Groce said.

Despite Sundays hot temperatures, both kids and parents enjoyed outdoor FestivALL activities like the annual Ice Cream Social on the West side.

"They got their faces painted and they got ice cream and just have fun down here and get out of the house a little bit," Ashley Kiewra said.
