NITRO, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A new swimming pool could be in the works for folks in the city of Nitro.
With the current pool in deteriorating condition, City Council members are looking at plans for a new pool.
Mayor Dave Casebolt said Tuesday that the current pool will last only about five years. Beyond then, he said it will be beyond repair. For that reason, he said now is the time for neighbors to start thinking about moving forward with plans for a new pool
Casebolt also believes it is an incentive for economic development.
The mayor said the the pool design being considered would actually generate more revenue because attendance would go up. He said the city is taking a closer look at new revenue sources the city will have in the next few years to help pay for the project.
