KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- When students go back to school Monday, Kanawha County parents should know there is a new policy in place -- if and when a water problem comes up.

WSAZ.com spoke Friday night with Kanawha County School Board President Pete Thaw.

He said the the new policy is if someone smells a licorice-like odor, a team of members from the health department and school administration will go to the complaint site and test the water immediately. That will happen before any immediate decision is made to send students home.
