NITRO, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Nitro is taking steps to clean up city.
City leaders recently started a property maintenance board.
One of the issues they are addressing is junk or illegal cars littering the streets. So far they have identified and tagged 32 cars with violations.
Officials have also handed out about 100 notices to property owners who are not taking care of their yards.
City Council has also passed an ordinance that does not allow people to put their trash can out on the street until the day before garbage is picked up.
