One Victim Reported in Shooting in Institute

INSTITUTE, W.Va, (WSAZ) -- Deputies are releasing new information about a shooting that injured a man in Institute Thursday night.

Police say the shooting happened during a dice game at a home on Smoot Avenue. The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department says two men started arguing and one of them pulled out a gun.

One man was shot in the leg. He's been transported to Thomas Memorial Hospital and is expected to recover from his injuries.

Meanwhile near the same time a car crashed a few blocks away from the crime scene.

Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a possible link between the crash and the shooting.

The victim said he did not know who shot him.

INSTITUTE, W.Va, (WSAZ) -- Police are investigating a shooting in Institute.

It happened around 8:30 p.m.

Dispatchers at Metro 911 can confirm that one man was shot in the leg at 102 Smoot Avenue.

Not much information is available at this time.
