Suspicious Package Left at Bank; No Threat Found

ELKVIEW, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A package filled with newspapers caused quite a scare at a bank in Elkview.

The package was found at the front door of the Poca Valley Bank about 10 a.m. Friday.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department's bomb squad was called to the scene to check it out.

A robot looked inside the package and found bags of newspapers inside.

Deputies tell, the employees were kept in a conference room on the opposite side of the building from where the package was found.

It is unclear who left the package at the bank.

ELKVIEW, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A package left at the front door of a bank in northern Kanawha County is under investigation.

Dispatchers say employees at the Poca Valley Bank in Elkview noticed the package as they were showing up for work Friday morning.

Deputies are at the bank right now checking to see what is in the package.

We have a crew headed to the scene.
