UPDATE: Man Killed by Train; Name Released

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The name of the man who was hit and killed by a train early Wednesday morning in Chesapeake has been released.

Chesapeake Police tell WSAZ.com James Long was hit by the train just before 3 a.m. at 115 Street and Venable Avenue.

Long died on the scene.

Police say the railroad conductor told them long was laying on the tracks at the time of the accident.

Foul play is not expected.

Long was 28-years-old.

CHESAPEAKE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a train in Kanawha County.

911 dispatchers tell WSAZ.com it happened just before 3 a.m. Wednesday at 115th Street and Venable Avenue in Chesapeake.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Office, Chesapeake Volunteer Fire Department and Kanawha County Medics responded to the scene.

No other information is being released at this time.
