CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A plea deal is in the works for a man accused of stabbing his father.
Donald McDaniel, 38, of St. Albans is charged with attempted murder in the case, but has been offered a reduced charge unlawful wounding as part of a plea agreement from prosecutors .
Police say McDaniel got into a fight with his father, Russell, at their home on West Vine Street in St. Albans in August.
Donald is accused of hitting his father in the face, then stabbing him in the leg with a carving knife.
Donald will be back in court next month for a judge to rule if the plea deal will be accepted.
