CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man was arrested late Sunday night after police say he stabbed a man several times on the city's West Side.
Detectives tell WSAZ.com Tony Lee Holcomb, 50, of Charleston, stabbed Gary Kirk, 55, of Charleston, in the neck and upper body.
Police were originally called to an apartment to investigate the stabbing. Upon investigating, they issued warrants for Holcomb's arrest.
Then a few hours later, about 10:30 p.m. police say a neighbor called about the sound of breaking glass coming from the same apartment on Bigley Avenue.
Officers responded and surrounded the area and Holcomb surrendered -- telling them he was the man they wanted.
Police say Holcomb claimed Kirk was having a relationship with Holcomb's girlfriend. Detectives believe Holcomb was trying to go after Kirk a second time.
Holcomb was charged with malicious wounding and burglary.
Kirk is listed in critical condition at CAMC General Hospital.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Charleston Police are looking for a man who they say was involved in a stabbing on the city's West Side.
According to a news release, Tony Lee Holcomb, 50, of Charleston, stabbed Gark Kirk, 55, of Charleston, in the neck and upper body several times.
The stabbing was reported at 7:43 p.m. Sunday along Bigley Avenue.
Witnesses told investigators the attack appeared to be unprovoked.
Charleston Police have issued warrants for Holcomb's arrest.
As of 7:30 a.m. Monday, Kirk was listed in critical condition at CAMC General.
