KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The condition of the pool at Camp Virgil Tate has been on the minds of many people for years.
Many residents say the pool is rundown and needs repairs badly. Workers from the pool gathered Monday night at the greater Sissonville Development Council to try to get things in order.
Officials from Camp Virgil Tate say they have already raised $75,000 for the project, which includes new deck cement, bath houses and more. They say there are many different ideas they have to make the camp more appealing to guests.
The total cost of the project has been estimated at $715,000. Officials say they plan on asking commissioners for that money.
They plan to pay it back with the money from the timbering they plan to do at the camp.
The project is expected to be completed by summer 2015.
