UPDATE: Warrant Issued in Rand Robbery

RAND, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies have issued a warrant for a man they say was involved in a robbery in Rand.

Deputies say Christopher D. Carey, 26, of Rand, is charged with one count of armed robbery and three counts of wanton endangerment in connection. Carey also goes by "Snacks."

The incident happened about 3:45 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Elaine Drive and Bluefield Avenue.

The victim told deputies he was walking to a friend’s house when a vehicle stopped near him. He said the suspect got out and robbed him of a small amount of cash. The victim also told deputies that the suspect was angry about the small amount of money he got, so he fired three shots near him.

RAND, W. Va. (WSAZ) -- Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies continue to look for the suspect in a reported armed robbery in Rand early Monday morning.

Deputies say the incident happened about 3:45 a.m. at the intersection of Elaine Drive and Bluefield Avenue.

The victim told deputies that he was walking to a friend’s house when a vehicle stopped near him. He said the suspect got out and robbed him of a small amount of cash. The victim also told deputies that the suspect was angry about the small amount of money he got, so he fired three shots near him.

At that point the victim said he took off on foot with the suspect initially following in his vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Office says they have at least one person of interest in the case.

RAND, W. Va. (WSAZ) -- Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a robbery that happened shortly before 4 a.m. Monday morning.

They tell WSAZ.com a couple was walking to a friend's house when a car pulled up next to them.

The driver demanded money and a cell phone.

As the couple left to call 911, the man shot at them, then left in a car.

No one was injured.

Deputies say the driver left with only a small amount of money.

A shell casing was found near the corner of Bluefield Avenue and Elaine Drive.

Deputies have at least one person of interest in the case.
