CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A day after severe storms caused widespread damage and power outages in our region, the National Weather Service cautioned that there could be another round of storms on the way.
The NWS issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 9 p.m.Thursday for the following counties in West Virginia: Boone, Braxton, Calhoun, Clay, Fayette, Kanawha, Nicholas and Roane, among others.
WSAZ Meteorologist Kelly Ann Cicalese says the best chance for severe weather is along I-77 and eastward.
"Strong winds and areas of hail will be possible," Cicalese said. "Storm chances are expected to dissipate after sunset, unlike yesterday where they held on until about midnight."
