CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Runners are stretching, carb loading and getting ready for a big weekend.
The Charleston Distance Run, the annual fifteen mile event, is happening this Saturday morning.
If you aren't a runner, there are some road closures you will want to know about while the racers pound the pavement.
On Saturday, starting at 6 a.m., the Kanawha Boulevard will be closed from Clendenin Street to Chesapeake Avenue. It will include many major thoroughfares in the city, including Virginia Street, Clendenin Street, Piedmont Road, MacCorkle Avenue, U.S. 119, Oakwood Road, Louden Heights Road and the South Side Bridge.
The race starts at 7:30 a.m. Drivers can xpect the closures and delays until about noon.
