CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman was arrested in connection with a theft from a gaming parlor where she's employed, Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies say.
The woman is charged with petit larceny. She is accused of taking $425 from Letha's II, located in the 1200 block of Greenbrier Street. Deputies say the woman is an employee at Letha's II, but was not working at the time.
Deputies say the woman tried to take the money from a safe. An on-duty employee reported the incident, which happened about 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com they originally received calls of a robbery in progress.
Metro 911 tells WSAZ.com it was reported about 8 p.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of Greenbrier Street.
Police are on scene, and dispatchers say they have one person detained.
