Robbery Scheme Involves Attacker Hiding in Trunk of Car

CROSS LANES, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man and woman are facing charges after brutally beating a man and stealing his wallet.

The victim is now recovering from some serious head injuries.

Chelsey Flavin knew the victim. According to Kanwaha County Sheriff's deputies she picked him up Monday night about 6:30 pm.

Deputies say she drove them to a remote area off of Old Goff Mountain Road in Cross Lanes.

She pulled over opened the trunk and that is when her boyfriend, Christopher Estep, jumped out and attacked the victim.

They took off with his wallet.

Flavin and Estep are both charged with robbery.

They are both in jail.
