CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The icy roads caused for a dangerous morning commute in Charleston.

Icy conditions caused the driver of this pick up truck to loose control, spin around and hit a concrete barrier.

No one was hurt in the accident.

Interstate 77 in northern Kanawha County was also shut down for several hours early Friday morning because of slick conditions. It has since reopened.

Dozens of schools closed on Friday due to the weather.

Meanwhile, high water is still an issue in Charleston. The Kanawha River is at 25 feet in Charleston, but is expected to crest Friday afternoon. This is still well below the 30-foot flood stage.

Right now, Haddad Riverfront Park and Magic Island are under water. The river is expected to go down this weekend.

Right now, the fast and slow lane of I-77 southbound near the Westmoreland exit is closed due to a single-vehicle accident.

Road crews are out treating the roads, but dispatchers urged drivers to use extreme caution. According to Metro 911, icy conditions have been reported along I-77 near the I-77/I-79 split and I-64/I-77.

Several inches of snow overnight and a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 a.m. for several counties.
