UPDATE: Charleston Road Reopens After Semi Hits Power Pole

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A road in Charleston has reopened after a semi hit a utility pole and brought down power lines.

The accident happened just before 7 a.m. Monday in the 21-hundred block of Oakridge Drive.

Emergency crews tell WSAZ.com the driver of the truck was heading to the Gunnoe Plant on Oakridge Drive when it got caught in some phone and power lines.

The truck took out one utility pole and caused several power lines to fall on the road.

Oakridge Drive was closed at Bakers Fork for more than a hour while crews worked to clear the road.

No one was hurt.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A busy road in Charleston is closed after a semi hit a utility pole and brought down power lines.

The accident happened just before 7 a.m. in the 21-hundred block of Oakridge Drive.

Emergency crews tell WSAZ.com the driver of the truck was heading to the Gunnoe Plant on Oakridge Drive when it got caught in some phone and power lines.

The truck took out one utility pole and several power lines are on the road.

Oakridge Drive is closed at Bakers Fork.

People who live on Bakers Fork who use Oakridge Drive will need to take Rutledge Road to get out Monday morning.

No one was hurt in the accident.

Neighbors in the area say power lines have been hanging low in the area of the accident for a few days.
