The shooting was reported just after midnight.

According to a news release, a relative took Robin White, 60, of Clendenin, to CAMC General with a gunshot wound to the leg.

When deputies arrived at the hospital White told him he was awakened by his dogs barking and when he went out on his front porch to see what was going on he saw a man. According to the release, White says the man pushed him to the ground and shot him in the leg.

The man then ran from the house.

White was able to call a relative for help.
