CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A burst sprinkler system at the Summit Conference Center in downtown Charleston was one of numerous similar problems crews were dealing with Wednesday.
Just after 4 p.m. Wednesday, firefighters had to shut off water at that location.
Water sprayed from the outside of the building, running onto the street.
Charleston firefighters say it's a common problem. With warmer temperatures, frozen pipes are thawing.
Charleston fire crews say they've responded to about 12 similar calls.
They say the building will remain closed until the sprinkler system is repaired.
