PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Salvation Army has decided not to open Camp Happy Valley in Putnam County this summer.

Camp officials say over the last several winters the camp has suffered extensive damage caused by severe weather.

Officials tell, the repairs will not be done in time to open this summer.

The Camp Committee is working to reopen the camp next summer and is asking for donations to help make the repairs.

If you would like to help out, you can call the Salvation Army at 304-343-4548.
