EAST BANK, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The town of East Bank is working to curb it's meth problem.
Town Council members passed an ordinance that would allow town leaders to condemn and board-up or clean former meth houses.
Mayor Chuck Blair tells WSAZ.com the town is working to have an ordinance similar to the one in Kanawha County.
When authorities report a meth lab Kanawha County workers then go to the property and board it up. The next step is for County leaders to look at whether or not the house can be cleaned or if demolition is necessary.
Mayor Blair says there will be one more reading of their new ordinance before it can take effect.
That will take place at the next council meeting.
