UPDATE: 11/18/12 @ 11:15 p.m.
LINCOLN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A truck crashed into an apartment in Alum Creek Sunday night after the driver veered off of the road.

State Police tell WSAZ.com, Shannon Searls, of Alum Creek, was driving on Childress Road just before 8:30 p.m. when he crashed into an apartment at the bottom of the Alum Creek Pharmacy building.

Two women and a child were inside the apartment at the time, but no one was hurt. Investigators say one of the women was standing near the window and jumped out of the way just in time to avoid getting hurt.

Police say Searls had a 3-year-old child in the back of the truck. The child was fastened in a car seat and was not injured. Searls was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. State Police say Searls told them he veered off the roadway to avoid hitting another car. Troopers say they're looking into that claim.

It's not clear right now, whether or not any charges will be filed.

The owner of the apartment, Chad Bradshaw, was nearby at his mother's house when the crash happened. He says he was shocked to see the damage.

"I guess I'll have to find a new place," Chad Bradshaw said.
