Two Charged with Child Neglect After Being Found Passed Out

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two people are facing child neglect charges after police say they found them passed out in a parking lot in St. Albans.

Police say they got a call about 1:30 a.m. Thursday about two people unresponsive in the parking lot of a business on West Main Street.

When paramedics arrived they found one of the people with a hypodermic needle stuck in their arm, according to the criminal complaint.

A three-year-old boy was also with the couple in a stroller.

Paramedics had to shake the couple awake.

They were identified as Zachary Taylor and Brittany Reedy, according to the complaint.

Police say Reedy is the mother of the little boy.

Taylor and Reedy have both been charged with child neglect creating the risk of penalty.
