UPDATE 11/1/13 @ 9:30 p.m.
KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A head-on crash in Pinch, W.Va., sent two women to the hospital Friday morning, Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies say.

It happened just after 10:30 a.m. Friday on Pinch Road North near the intersection of Waters Edge Drive.

The injured women are identified as Charlene Copen, 54, of Blacklick, Ohio, and Lena Parsons, 44, of Amma, W.Va. Deputies say a 1993 Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by Copen veered off the roadway and then across the center line, hitting a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire driven by Parsons. The car and truck collided head-on at an angle.

Copen was partially ejected through the front passenger window of the truck, and Parsons had to be extricated from the Pontiac.

Both women were taken to CAMC General for treatment. Their medical conditions were unavailable Friday night.

No charges had been filed in the crash as of Friday, but the investigation is continuing.
