CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Whether flowers are for a family member, a significant other or even a secret admirer, it's no secret that Valentine's Day is the busiest day of the year for floral shops.
Charleston Cut Flower Company was just as chaotic as the workers expected.
The owner, Michael Gregg, says they get a week's worth of business in just one day.
As always, red roses topped the list for the most popular arrangement, and when you don't have enough of them it can slow the whole process down.
“We had to quit taking deliveries until we get caught up,” Gregg said. “We're running about two or three hours behind, because we ran out of roses last night and had to pick some up today."
Many flower shops have to bring in extra help on Valentine's Day to make sure everything gets done.
