W.Va. Authority OKs Rate Hikes at 11 Hospitals

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Rates are going up at 11 hospitals in West Virginia.

The Associated Press reports that the West Virginia Health Care Authority approved the increases last week.

The rate hikes are effective immediately. They range from 1.98 percent for Fairmont General Hospital to 5.25 percent for Charleston Area Medical Center and City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Other hospitals receiving approval to raise rates are CAMC Teays Valley, West Virginia University Hospitals, Raleigh General, Davis Memorial, St. Joseph's, Summersville Regional Medical Center, Logan Medical Center and Charleston Surgical Hospital.
