Water Main Break Reported in Charleston

UPDATE 7/23/13 @ 12:10 p.m.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A water main broke in Charleston Tuesday morning and created a wild show.

The break was reported about 7 a.m. Tuesday along MacCorkle Avenue between the Southside Bridge and the Frontier building. The break sent water 40-50 feet in the air.

The break didn't affect traffic or water service.

West Virginia American Water is making repairs to the line.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A water main break in Charleston sent water 40 to 50 feet in the air.

The break was reported about 7 a.m. Tuesday along MacCorkle Avenue between the Southside Bridge and the Frontier building.

Crews with West Virginia American Water will have to shut off the water.

This water main break is not affecting traffic because the water is shooting toward the Kanawha River.
