UPDATE 4/10/12 @ 3:55 p.m.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A water line has been repaired after it was hit Tuesday when a gas company was working on one of it's lines.
It happened in the 1600-block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Charleston. Water was gushing from the pipe into the roadway.
According to Laura Jordan with West Virginia American Water, water was shut off for customers in the area for a couple of hours. It was turned back on about 2 p.m.
Jordan says the gas company is still working to replace one of it's lines, so the road will be down to one lane until about 6 p.m. Tuesday and then again on Wednesday.
According to West Virginia American Water, the gas company was digging and hit a water line Tuesday morning.
Crews on the scene say water is still gushing from the pipe.
WVAM says about 20 customers will be affected by the leak.
