CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A sprinkler system went off at Yeager Airport in Charleston and damaged the baggage claim area of the building.
The incident happened just before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, but there was no fire or emergency at the airport. According to a news release, a maintenance worker accidentally damaged a sprinkler head in the baggage claim area, causing it to go off.
The baggage carousel suffered some water damage and will need to be inspected before it can be used again.
Until the carousel is repaired, travelers will pick up their luggage at the front of the airport.
No flights have been delayed and no delays are anticipated at this time.
