CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Yeager Airport in Charleston is receiving almost $6.3 million in federal funding for runway improvements.
U.S. Senators Jay Rockefeller and Joe Manchin announced the grant this week.
They said the improvements will help keep the airport safe and running smoothly, which is especially important following the recent storm.
The grant was awarded through the Federal Aviation Administration's Airport Improvement Program, which makes money available for runways, airfield lighting, weather observation stations, land acquisition and environmental studies.
