CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A Powerball ticket sold in West Virginia that's worth $1 million is about to become nothing but a scrap of paper.

West Virginia Lottery Director John C. Musgrave says the winning ticket sold in Beckley last March will expire on Thursday, should it go unclaimed.

The ticket matched five numbers but missed the Powerball. It was purchased at a Little General Store for the March 16 drawing.

The store gets its $10,000 sales bonus, even if the ticket expires.

The winning numbers were: 3-7-21-44-55 and the Powerball was 16.

West Virginia Lottery tickets expire 180 days from the draw date.

The ticketholder has until 5 p.m. Thursday to claim the prize at lottery headquarters in Charleston.

Unclaimed prizes go into a fund returned to players in the form of prizes.
