A man is accused of cooking meth and putting his neighbors and their child in danger.

West Virginia State Police responded to an anonymous tip that someone was operating a meth lab at a home on Chareston's west side where several families lived.

Tuesday night, police arrested Donald Joseph Beach after they say they found meth and marijuana seeds in his apartment on the bottom floor of the house.

Living on the top floor of the house and in the line of fire for meth fumes was a family with a small child.

That child was checked out at the hospital.

Beach faces drug and child endangerment charges.

In any meth bust, police say keeping officers and neighbors safe is priority one.

Trooper J.M. Comer said, "The smell of it's enough to make us step back. we'll send a tech in with a mask to confirm if it is or isn't a meth lab in this case. It was a very big one in almost every room so that would be very, very dangerous to anyone who went in without a mask."

State Police say that tips from the public are a huge part of the key to catching meth makers.

The Quincy detachment was in charge of Tuesday night's bust.

I don't understand people!!! They're so lazy to get a job and work hard for their money so they turn to makeing drugs and selling it and useing them. These people are cold hearted they need to be locked up and thats that!! This child was being neglected and i feel that it is also abuse. This poor child is inhaleing this junk and the parents does'nt care. I don't think these ciminals should ever get their child back. If they really loved their child they would'nve done this. God Bless This Child!!! And I hope this haunts them for the rest of their lives!!!

It's a shame that an innocent child had to be exposed to this nasty drug. Unfortunately we have to trust that our neighbors use common sense when we live in apartment buildings. I hope this child will not suffer for the out right disregard for other human beings that this person shows.
