Motorcyclist in Critical Condition After South Charleston Accident, One Arrest
The driver of a motorcycle remains in critical condition after he was involved in an accident in South Charleston.

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The driver of a motorcycle remains in critical condition after he was involved in an accident in South Charleston.
The accident happened just after 9 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of MacCorkle Avenue and Montrose Drive.
South Charleston Police tell WSAZ.com the driver of the motorcycle was traveling east on MacCorkle Avenue when the driver of a car headed west tried to turn left onto MacCorkle Avenue and went right into the path of the motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle was thrown 30 feet from his bike. Police say he suffered head trauma and was taken to CAMC General.
The driver of the car took off after the accident, but police were able to catch up with him near the Hardee's along MacCorkle Avenue.
Police say the driver of the car was charged with several charges including DUI, hit and run and failure to render aid.
Police are not releasing the names of the people involved.

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va (WSAZ) - MacCorkle Avenue is back open after an accident between a motorcycle and a car.
The accident happened around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, at the intersection of MacCorkle and Montrose Drive.
Police say the rider of the motorcycle was headed east on MacCorkle Avenue when the car turned in front of him.
The rider was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An accident between a car and a motorcycle has shut down the eastbound lanes of MacCorkle Avenue in South Charleston.
The accident happened around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of MacCorkle Avenue and Montrose Drive.
The rider on the motorcycle has sustained serious injuries. There is no word on any other injuries.
Traffic is being diverted off MacCorkle Avenue at Montrose Drive.

I hope the rider is ok. Hope the son can make it to his Dad soon. Pay attention to motorcyclists people! I constantly have people pull out in front of me when on my bike. Some will look straight at you and still pull out in front of you!
