UPDATE 12/28/10 @ 9:40 p.m.
SCOTT DEPOT, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- What started with planning a break-in ended with one family planning a funeral.

West Virginia State Police say Stephen King, a man in his 20s, broke into the Scott Depot home of Jeff Walker. Troopers say Walker's dogs alerted him of the intruder.

"He heard the dogs, he saw a gentleman standing there who had a handgun, his handgun was raised," W.Va. State Police Sgt. K.S. Dickson said. "Mr. Walker, who was an avid sportsman and hunter, raised his gun and shot the man."

Troopers say it was a self-defense situation -- that Walker had no choice but to shoot after King pointed a loaded gun at him.

King was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

"They told Mr. King, 'Look, don't come around here. You're not welcome; don't come on our property,' " Dickson said. "It's just a terrible tragedy."

Walker has not been charged. Troopers say it is likely this case will go before a grand jury.

Jeff was lucky to be home 5 days of each month during the whole year of 2010 and 2009. I know because I am a family friend. Jeff works many long days and long hours out of state to provide for his family. If his neighbor does not like the fact that jeff is not home to cut his grass then the neighbor should help by cutting the grass for him or mind his own bussiness.

After seeing the youtube video and then hearing jeff walkers voicemail on wchs news, things just dont add up. I know jeff walker and i know that sometimes he likes to bend the truth and use his temper to do it. I would like to see this case deeply investigated on behalf of mr.King. And if Mr.King was standing over jeff walker with a gun, wouldnt you think he would of shot jeff walker before jeff walker could get to his gun.Like I said before please DEEPLY INVESTIGATE THIS CASE

Someone lost his life. His LIFE. This is not about gun ownership, gun usage, homeowner's rights, housing conditions, who approves of whom in the area, etc. Human life is sacred. A person was murdered. Show respect for the loss of human life and those lives it touches.
