It's a new era for Mountaineer Basketball.
Bob Huggins talked about his first season as WVU's Head Basketball Coach to members of Charleston's and South Charleston's Rotary Clubs. The meeting was in the Fellowship Hall of the Christ Church United Methodist Church.
Huggins also told a few jokes that got the crowd excited about the season kicking off this Friday in Morgantown.
Huggins says his biggest fear is messing things up because he knows all about the success of Mountaineer Basketball.
Coach Huggins has 590 victories in 25 years as a college basketball coach. He has 15 NCAA Tournament appearances to his credit and has coached at Walsh, Akron, Cincinnati, and Kansas State, before returning to West Virginia.

Debbie: You don't have a clue as to what you are talking about. Jerry West recommended Bob Huggins for the WVU job. That is enough for me. Most importantly, Bob Huggins'style of play is how basketball has been played in the Big East Conference for the past 25 years; hence a perfect match for WVU to be successful in the Big East against programs like Georgetown, Syracuse, Connecticut, etc.
I have never liked Bob Huggins style of basketball. Contact in basketball is suppose to be kept to a minimum. He just uses the "rough 'em up" stlye. If the refs decide to officiate the game you're screwed. Hope he'll do better for WVU.
