UPDATE 2/14/11 @ 11:20 a.m.
MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- The death of a man found in his truck is tearing up his family as local investigators scramble for answers.

Joshua Starcher's body was found a very rural area that truly could be described as in the middle of nowhere.

WSAZ.com's Carrie Cline sat down with Joshua's parents Monday afternoon. They are baffled and devastated by his death and say, even though he was 32, he will always be their baby.

“I would rather have lost him in a car accident or to a heart attack, but murder?” said Gilly Starcher, Joshua’s mother.

“For me, I was lucky that I got to spend everyday with Josh and my grandchildren. They got off the bus here because Josh worked for me. He was a single dad,” said Coy Starcher, Joshua’s father.

Without question, Coy and Gilly Starcher are deeply grieving the loss of their son, a 32-year-old father of three girls.

“He was a good father. He would give those girls a kiss every morning and every evening,” Gilly said.

A passerby was driving on Vinegar Street in broad daylight Friday afternoon when he saw Joshua’s truck sitting on the rural road. His body was inside. But, police aren’t saying how he died or when.

“He would sometimes take a pain pill,” Coy said.

Police haven't told the Starchers much, but they have their own suspicions about what led up to their son’s death.

“It looks probable that he was illegally buying prescription drugs,” Coy said.

But, while police continue to investigate, these parents hold on to the happy memories like Joshua's birthday party, just the day before his murder.

“That’s the last hug, the last kiss, the last, ‘I love you, Mom’ I’ll ever get from him,” Gilly said.

The Starchers said their son suffered a major back injury several years ago, underwent several procedures and even a surgery for that, but still experienced a lot of pain.

But, again, police are not releasing any details about the murder.
