Police say a woman was killed and three others hurt after a head-on collision near the Kanawha-Clay County line.

It happened at about 7am Friday on Route 4 about a mile from the Clay County line.

According to Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies, a witness said that a south bound pick-up was attempting to pass a vehicle when it struck a mini-van traveling north.

Deputies say Mary Villa, 25 of Procious, was driving the mini-van; and Chris Taylor, 21 of Bickmore, was driving the pickup truck.

Villa was flown to CAMC General in Charleston where she later died. Deputies say Taylor and his two passengers were taken to the hospital. No word yet on their injuries.

if there was a vehicle passed in this accident there would be three vehicles in the accident not just two. Christopher was on his way to work to support his family. i am truly sorry for the loss of a mother and daughter but it was gods will. if it wasnt ment to happen it would have not happen. my prayers are with the families of the accident. Some of the statments are very cruel and distasteful. people should not be posting cruel comments, should be posting hope and prayers for both families. It is a hard time for both. I am chris's sister inlaw and he does NOT drink or do drugs. he is a very kind hearted person who would give someone the shirt off his back. He does have a family to!! I do feel sorry for the other family! Please be kind and not so rude. Get your facts straight before you judge someone

First off i would like to say that my prayers are with both families.I don't know the girl but i do know the driver of the pickup truck and he was not late for work he was a half hour early and its not right for people to be saying anything because they don't know for sure what happened.Chris is a very loving and caring man,he also has a famliy {he has a little girl that just turned two}. He has drove that same road for two years every day.He does not drink {he was on his way to work}also i would like to say he is not a young punk with a truck. He has no memory of what happened that day or even getting up that early because he has a bad head injury. We had to tell him that he was accident and the boys that was in the truck with him had to tell about everything else, and it is the first of January,2008 and he still can not remember anything. He is the kind of man and friend that he would do anything for anyone even if he didn't know them.I pray for both families.Im Chris's fiance.

I know the driver of the truck and there was no eye witness. The police stated there was an eyewitness then later it was confirmed wrong. If the driver was at fault, then why does the police report state otherwise. Before posting comments, you need to get your facts straight. The only comments that should be posted is prayers not rumors.

Well to start with on the accident there was an eye witness that saw he was passing a car when slamming into the mini van. So it was a non passing zone for him so that makes him at fault to start with. Also just because he was late for work doesn't mean he would have been fired. He should have took his time the boss would have understood. Her family is really suffering due to the holidays coming up. I am glad that no one else died in this horrible accident but still he should have been more cautious than he was. But may GOD be with the 3 that survived. GOD made her a better home. He is watching over her children. May GOD BLESS everyone. Just look at the pictures and remember this could happen to you. Don't throw rocks at glass houses for it may be your own that shatters. Don't take every day for granted and how fast you can go. Take it nice and slow and you will enjoy it more.

THIS IS IN REGARDS TO THE LITTLE GIRL WHO WAS KILLED GETTING OFF OF THE BUS. I THINK ELDERLY PEOPLE SHOULD NOT HAVE THERE LICENSE AFTER 60 OR 65 YEARS OLD.. I THINK THEY SHOULD BE TESTED ONCE A YEAR AFTER THE AGE OF 55 OR 60. THIS IS BECOMING A PROBLEM EVERYWHERE. THE ELDERLY DRIVERS REACTION TIME IS NOT LIKE THE YOUNGER DRIVERS. I REALIZE I WILL BE OLD ONE DAY. I HOPE SOMEONE MAKES ME GET OFF OF THE ROAD IF I AM ENDANGERING OTHER PEOPLE. THE ELDERLY LADY OBVIOUSLY WAS NOT ABLE TO SEE OR JUST NOT PAYING ATTENTION.. MY HEART GOES OUT TO THE LITTLE GIRLS FAMILY AND THE ELDERLY LADY WHO IM SURE FEELS HORRIBLE. THANKS!!

How can the authorities rule "no fault"? Look at the pictures...since when can you legally pass on a solid yellow line? That's why these punks drive with no regard for anyone else...no accountability. Now an innocent family is burened with pain and sorrow and the permanent loss of a loved one.

How can someone not be at fault when there is a head on collision? Someone has to be driving on the wrong side of the road.

i dont think anyone should jump to conclusions about the situation until they know EXACTLY what happened or was there. i will be praying for both families!!!! authorities has already ruled that the driver of the truck was not at fault. i will be praying for both families. And besides if u would judge yourselfs before others, the world would be a better place. U know what they say u shouldn't assume.

I will be praying for these people. It is a shame that people have to be in a big hurry all the time. The only ones that pay are the ones who are innocent. I wish people would just slow down and be more cautious. God Bless you Mary.

This is why I think people who drive so impatiently and recklessly should face prosecution whether drunk or not. This was NOT just an accident where someone slid etc., he deliberately tried to pass when it wasn't safe to do so, just so he could get somewhere faster. Apparently just the fear of killing or injuring yourself or someone else is not enough of a deterrant.
