Families as far away as Hawaii will celebrate around Christmas trees grown in West VIrginia this holiday season.
Mason County's Santa's Forest is a cut-your-own Christmas tree farm that now uses the internet to take orders from across the country.
According to a report from the Charleston Gazette, Farm owner Luke Wilbur and his wife Jenna bought the farm
this year. Their trees are netted, and then boxed in wax-lined
cardboard boxes, then shipped by FedEx. Shipping costs for in-state
customers are $15, but to get a tree to Hawaii or Alaska, it can
cost up to $110.
According to the National Christmass Tree Association, Internet
sales accounted for four percent of overall sales last year.
