A Charleston disc jockey was yanked off the air this morning after listeners complained of hearing too much 'Hail! Hail! to Michigan.'
Coach Kidd, a Michigan native who co-hosts a morning talk show on Electric 102.7 FM, was warned three times to ratchet down his enthusiasm over former WVU football coach Rich Rodriguez's decision to become coach at the University of Michigan.
Program manager Wade Hill says Kidd was just taking it a little too far, and his refusal to stop boiled down to insubordination.
After playing the Wolverines' fight song a fourth time, Coach Kidd was taken off the air. Hill said the decision to suspend Coach Kidd came from upper-level management.
Hill said listeners complained that the DJ's over-the-top support of Rodriguez's decision was disrespectful to the state.
Coach Kidd could not be reached for comment today.

This whole thing is pathetic. The coach took a better paying job for his family. The d.j. was just trying to get a rise out of stupid people, which he did. If one person here says they wouldn't take a better paying job if offered to them, then they are a liar. Get a grip, and get a life!!!!
quit screening commments if your gonna post one then post them all.. Ive wrote three comments and you didnt post any of them...wsaz is becoming a JOKE!!!
I think this whole situation is absolutely ridiculus along with 90% of the comments. I saw one comment that said you are a public figure with millions of listeners. Millions how big a market do you think Charleston is. I know it is way less than millions since there is not even 2 million people in WV. Anyone that was offended by this needs to grow up. He was just having a little bit of fun. I am sure that he thinks of all his listeners as friends that he can joke around with everyday if they are taking time out of their days to tune into his program and listen. If one of your friends was a Michigan grad and was giving you a hard time about this you would argue about it, but it would be fun. That is the best part about sports because everybody has a team and everybody loves to argue about who's team is better. We do this because it is a good time period not to step on anybody's toes, but because if it were the other way around we would be doing the same thing. Gorw Up Everyone.
