UPDATE 8/24/11 @ 11:10 p.m.
BOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- It may sound so cliche to say "life can change in a split second." But, Zach Walker says life changed right before his eyes, as a car crossed the center line and took his wife away.

Lisa Walker, 28, died Sunday in a head-on crash on Midland Trail in Summit, Ky. Zach was in the car with Lisa when the accident happened about 6 p.m.

Despite the obvious heartache he's feeling, Zach says he feels fortunate to have held his wife in his arms -- and heard her say the most wonderful words as she slipped away at the scene of the crash.

Zach was just slightly injured, but he's dealing with the gripping pain of a broken heart -- not just for himself, but Lisa's two daughters and a son from a previous marriage.

Lisa's funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday.

There's no information available on the other driver's name, condition and potential charges.

Kentucky State Police say they're investigating the accident -- recreating the wreck and awaiting various reports.
