The funeral director at Dill Funeral home says a private burial for Leah Hickman took place Sunday afternoon. The murdered Marshall student was buried at Forest Hill Cemetary in Flat Rock. That's a small community in Mason County.

On Saturday, friends, family and even strangers gathered in Point Pleasant to say goodbye to Leah HIckman.

Hickman, a Marshall University student, was found dead in her apartment building after police and her family searched for a week to find her. Police say they are treating her death as a homicide.

Services were held at the Armory in Point Pleasant.

Leah was 21 years old.

No one has been arrested yet for Leah's murder.

QUOTE: Posted by: Anonymous This case should of been solved a week ago. It is time for the obvious suspect to be named and for an arrest to be made. ~~~~~~~~~~~ So WHO would that be in your opinion??

Why ask the press to pressure HPD? Do you think by pressuring them that is going to make a suspesct come forward and say Hey I did it? NO, So let's just put our support behin our local law enforcement whether we like them or not..And I don't believe the media or the Public needs to know much about this case..Just think, If they would publish like you want them to do and then the suspect is captured, Don't you think that the Cabell County Prosecutor job of picking a fair and impartial Jury to convict this MAN or WOMAN will be tough..So with that let's support our law enforcement and especially the family of Miss Hickman.

we need to hear from the hpd soon..i cant believe that they have no leads they are too smart not to have leads..those of us that live near the area need to know more..was this an isolated case, or is there a killer on the loose to harm others...was this just directed toward leah..hpd has got to know something...i cant help but wonder if the person responsible was someone leah knew and not just a person off the street..most of those that knew leah have expressed how wonderful she was.. could it have been a jealous friend, old aquaintance or someone closer to leah...was she able to fight the person or persons who did this to her...if the public or young women should really be in fear then let them know...it would relieve a lot of people if we knew that the hpd had some type of leads...just tell us that they have leads so that we know our hpd is on the case spring classes begin in less than 2wks i am afraid to even walk after my night classes to my car....hpd please catch this person...
