Man Charged With Murder & DUI

A man has been charged with murder and DUI following an accident that killed a man Monday night.

Kentucky State Police say the accident happened on US 119 in Pike County at the intersection with KY 1460 around 5 PM.

Troopers say that 31-year old Billy Reed was traveling south in his pick-up truck when he swerved into the turning lane and hit the motorcycle ridden by 43-year old Ronnie Church of Belfry.

Church was transported to the Pikeville Medical Center where he later died as a result of his injuries. Troopers say Church was not wearing a helmet

Reed who is from Brushy, Ky is lodged in the Pike County Detention Center.
