GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A man charged with murdering his wife has agreed to a plea deal that sends him to prison for at least 25 years.
Prosecutors say David Ramey, 38, of Vinton, Ohio went to his mother's mobile home on February 15 and shot 28-year-old Stephanie Ramey twice, killing her.
Ramey was later indicted on charges of aggravated murder, murder and disrupting public services. Both murder charges had gun specifications attached.
Monday in Gallia County Common Pleas Court, Ramey pleaded guilty to murder and was immediately sentenced to life in prison. He will be eligible for parole in 25 years.
During Ramey’s preliminary hearing back in March, his mother testified that her son walked into her mobile home and asked where Stephanie was. She told him she was in the bedroom and said the next thing she heard was Stephanie say "no" -- and two shots were fired.
Ramey's mother said he walked back through the mobile home, pulled the phone out of the wall and told her if she called anybody that he would kill her, according to prosecutors.

Gallia County Sheriff Joe Browning was able to track down David Ramey in the Bidwell area and take him into custody shortly after the shooting.
At the hearing Friday, David Ramey's mother testified. According to Gallia County Prosecutor Jeff Adkins, Ramey's mother said her son walked into her mobile home and asked where Stephanie was. She told him she was in the bedroom and said the next thing she heard was Stephanie say "no" -- and two shots were fired.
Ramey's mother said he walked back through the mobile home, pulled the phone out of the wall and told her if she called anybody that he would kill her, according to Adkins.
The Gallia County Coroner, investigator with the BCI and Sheriff Joe Browning also testified Friday.
According to the BCI investigator, in his statement, David Ramey said he went to the home to confront his wife about an extramarital affair he had heard about. He said she was walking toward him with her hand behind her back. Ramey admitted to shooting her and leaving.
Following the hearing the case was sent to the grand jury.
Ramey is currently in jail in lieu of $100,000 cash-only bail.

David Ramey’s bond was set at $1,000,000 during his arraignment in Gallipolis Municipal Court Thursday afternoon. To be release, Ramey must pay 10 percent of the bond.
Ramey is charged with aggravated murder. He was also given a court appointed attorney during the hearing.
His preliminary hearing is set February 24 at 10 a.m.
Sheriff investigators say Ramey went to his mom’s trailer Wednesday morning where he shot and killed his wife, Stephanie.
David Ramey was arrested a short time later in the parking lot of his job.
Police recently released the woman's identity. Her name is Stephanie Ramey. She's 28, and police say she was shot and killed by her husband.

According to the sheriff's department, David Ramey on Wednesday morning went to his mother's home along Hartsook Road in Vinton, which is located in northern Gallia County.
That's where Stephanie Ramey had been staying. Police say David Ramey walked into a bedroom and shot her twice -- killing her.
David Ramey was taken into custody a short time later after deputies caught up with him pulling into the parking lot of his job.
“They were together, had been married and living together and just recently had some trouble in the marriage some domestic disputes where he had been staying separately the past several nights and came back into the home this morning," Gallia County Sheriff Joe Browning said.
The Rameys have two children; they were at school when all of this happened.
Browning says David Ramey is also charged with disrupting public service in connection with pulling a phone cord out of the wall in the midst of allegedly committing the crime.
Finally, there is a gun specification on the aggravated murder charge.

David has been arrested and charged with aggravated murder. According to Sheriff Browning, more charges are pending.

Investigators are still notifying family members and at this time and are not releasing the victim's name.
