CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Charleston has a vandal on its hands.
However, it's all fun and games when it comes to this type of graffiti.
The mysterious knitter leaves scarves, hats and other knitted things at popular places around the city.
Sarah Raydow of the Kanawha City Yard Company said, "I was putting away some yarn that I had gotten in that day, and finished. I gathered up my knitting bag and coat. I walked over and opened the door and there it was."
It all started at the Kanawha City Yarn Company.
From the yarn company to a dog park, even a statue off Kanawha Boulevard.
"Minnipurl," the self-proclaimed knitting graffiti artist, has hit a number of places, trying to spread some anonymous warmth during a cold winter, but its all in good fun. And it's got those who've been hit winking and wondering who this wicked spindler might be.
So who is this anonymous knitter?
Why it's Minnipurl of course.
You didn't think I was going to really spill the beans did you?
Minnipurl asked us to keep her or him anonymous for the fun spirit of the knitting graffiti. But Minni told us some folks are doing the same type of thing in other cities across the country.

This a great story I told my two kids about and they thought that whoever is doing this must be pretty cool. I think they are wonderful for trying to make people smile and not take everything so serious. If everybody would do something like this we would all be better off. Knit on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
