KIMPER, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Investigators are looking into what caused a house fire that killed a two year old boy Tuesday morning in Pike County, Kentucky.

It happened at about 11:40am on Prater Bottom in Kimper.

According to a news release from the Kentucky State Police, Phoebe Leedy and her four year old son were able to escape without getting hurt, but 23-month-old Patrick Pinion was unaccounted for at the time of the fire.

We're told Patrick's great grandmother tried to save him, but the heat and smoke were too intense to get inside the house.

Troopers say that once the fire was put out, firefighters found Patrick inside house where he was pronounced dead by the county coroner.

State Police say foul play is not suspected in the case.
