Winfield, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Putnam County Sheriff says the co-owner of the West Virginia Wild basketball team faces charges after an officer found marijuana in his car.

Daniel Hicks was arraigned late Tuesday afternoon in Putnam County.

According to the criminal complaint, Hicks was pulled over for a traffic violation and a drug dog smelled drugs in his car. The complaint states Hicks allowed the deputy to search his car.

Deputies say during the search they found two pounds of marijuana.

Hicks was charged with possession with the intent to deliver. His bond was set at $30,000.

The West Virginia Wild is part of the New International Basketball League. The team was created in 2004.

check YOUR facts! Ms. KT! She is talking from experience herself. She served 7 years in prison for a drug charge. Yeah the one bashing on Mr. Hicks is a druggy and a convicted felon herself who has motive and probably is the one who set Mr. Hicks up. I hope you are found guilty for your own crime. I know Mr. Hicks and all those accustions you spew with hate, is just that, hate for a man who saw evil in you and called you out on it. Mr Hicks has helped and given so much of his time, sweat, and LEGAL money to the community, especially the kids, through his so called "non-existent" team and various sport programs. He has even helped you,KT get off your feet and helped your neglected kids! So yes be careful, because God's laws goes both ways! Don't throw stones when u live in a glass house! "Judge not less ye be judged" Justice will prevail? Absolutely! I would expect a knock on your door very soon! As for racism existence?! Do I need t

'anonymous" talking about being a coward and 'no name". The fact of the matter is that the "wild" did only have one sorry season. CHECK YOUR FACTS! yea, please look at the "man"if that is what you consider a man, and all of the wrong he continues to do in society. unfortunatly for him the facts are emerging in the legal forum, what is done in the dark will always come to light. He lives as if he is above the law of the land and of GOD's laws. He has given the innocent act long enough! Justice will prevail and PROVE him GUILTY!!!!!!!!He won't be just getting his hand smacked this time!

Mr. Hicks hasn't been convicted of anything. In the United States the notion is still "innocent until proven guilty" is it not? Look at the man not the accusation. Hyperbolic accusations about a "non-existent team" that has had several successful and exciting seasons and mean-spirited personal attacks are so plentiful from people too cowardly to stand by their accusations with so much as a name. It is always easy to villify someone when there will be no repercussions. Wait for the facts to emerge in the legal forum before passing judgement.
