Frankfort, K.Y. (WSAZ) -- In Kentucky, the issue of casino gambling is still at a standstill, and Governor Steve Beshear says he plans to talk with house leaders to decide whether it's time to say stop.

He says allowing casinos to open and taxing them could help keep away a $900 million dollar shortfall in the state, as well as cuts in government services.

House Speaker Jody Richards says he's still holding out hope for the measure though, and the issue isn't dead.
