LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol is stepping up its efforts to help local police agencies battle drug traffickers.
This week the patrol released information on where it had encountered the most activity and the numbers held a few surprises.
In Franklin County, the metropolitan Columbus area had the highest number of overall arrests with 186.
Scioto County has the second highest number of arrests with 116. That includes 28 felony arrests and warrants, 36 drug charges and 2 weapons charges.
Lawrence County comes in at number nine on the list with 67 arrests.
Statewide the patrol made more than 800 drug arrests in the first two months of 2008.
