A teacher and custodian at Spencer Middle school collaborated on a new book called, "The Adventures of a Fat Kid." It's a book of short stories Bart Harper wrote based on his memories of growing up in Rural West Virginia.

It started out as an on-line blog for Harper. He says it was a way to laugh and remember stories after his father died.
But his stories about his family caught on and people reading his blog urged him to write a book. He did write it but he didn't know how to draw.
Bart says,"I tried to draw a fat kid out of stick drawings and it just didn't work."

That's where janitor, Mike Randolph comes in. He draws as a hobby. So Randolph drew the pictures to go along with all of Harper's crazy stories.

Their book, "Adventures of a Fat Kid," has already sold more than 300 copies. Harper is working on a sequel to the book. Randolph will illustrate that one as well. The first book is available on-line at Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
